Product Care & Reconstitution

Best-practice guidance for storing, handling, and reconstituting lyophilized research peptides.

Last Updated · June 15, 2026

01Introduction

This guide provides general best-practice information for the storage, handling, and reconstitution of lyophilized research peptides supplied by CCL Peptides Solutions. It is provided for informational purposes to support proper laboratory handling.

Research Use Only. The information below relates solely to laboratory handling of research materials. It is not medical, dosing, or usage guidance, and our products are not for human or animal consumption.

02On Receiving Your Order

Inspect your package promptly on arrival. Peptides are shipped lyophilized and are stable for short periods at ambient temperature during transit. Once received, transfer items to appropriate storage as described below as soon as practical, and verify the contents against your order and the included documentation.

03Storage Guidelines

Proper storage preserves compound integrity. General guidance for research peptides:

State Suggested Storage General Guidance
Lyophilized (sealed) Freezer, −20°C or colder Most stable form; protect from light and moisture
Lyophilized (short term) Refrigerated, 2–8°C Acceptable for shorter periods before use
Reconstituted Refrigerated, 2–8°C Use within a limited window; avoid repeated temperature cycling
Bacteriostatic water Room temperature / refrigerated Store sealed; follow product labeling

Lyophilized (sealed)

Suggested Storage Freezer, −20°C or colder
General Guidance Most stable form; protect from light and moisture

Lyophilized (short term)

Suggested Storage Refrigerated, 2–8°C
General Guidance Acceptable for shorter periods before use

Reconstituted

Suggested Storage Refrigerated, 2–8°C
General Guidance Use within a limited window; avoid repeated temperature cycling

Bacteriostatic water

Suggested Storage Room temperature / refrigerated
General Guidance Store sealed; follow product labeling

Avoid freeze-thaw cycling of reconstituted material. Where appropriate, aliquot to minimize repeated warming and cooling. [Confirm exact temperatures/timeframes you wish to publish for your specific catalog.]

04Reconstitution Overview

Reconstitution is the laboratory process of dissolving a lyophilized peptide in an appropriate solvent — commonly bacteriostatic or sterile water — to prepare a solution for research. The appropriate solvent and volume depend on the specific compound and the researcher’s protocol.

05Step-by-Step (General Laboratory Practice)

1

Prepare

Allow the sealed vial to reach room temperature. Work in a clean area and sanitize the vial stoppers with an alcohol wipe.

2

Add Solvent

Draw the chosen volume of solvent and introduce it slowly down the inner wall of the vial rather than directly onto the powder.

3

Dissolve Gently

Allow the peptide to dissolve on its own or swirl gently. Do not shake vigorously, as agitation can degrade sensitive compounds.

4

Store & Label

Once fully dissolved, label with contents and date and store refrigerated. Aliquot where appropriate to limit freeze-thaw cycles.

Note: Solvent choice, concentration, and volumes are determined by the researcher according to their protocol and the specific compound. CCL does not provide dosing or usage instructions.

06Handling & Hygiene

  • Use clean, appropriate personal protective equipment and laboratory technique.
  • Keep vials sealed when not in use and protect from light and moisture.
  • Avoid contamination by sanitizing stoppers before each draw.
  • Do not use material that appears discolored, contaminated, or compromised.

07Stability & Shelf Life

Lyophilized peptides stored correctly generally remain stable for extended periods, while reconstituted solutions are less stable and should be used within a limited window. Always refer to the specific product documentation and your own validated protocols.

08Disposal

Dispose of unused materials, solutions, and consumables in accordance with your institution’s protocols and applicable local, state, and federal regulations governing laboratory waste.

09Safety Notice

These materials are for laboratory research use only and are not for human or animal consumption, diagnostic, or therapeutic use. Handle all research compounds as potentially hazardous and follow good laboratory practice at all times.
